57 Ford Fairlane 2dr. Hard Top
The first few pics are of Salvadors
newly acquired 57 Ford 2 door hard top. This car has only 55,000 miles on it,
this car is in perfect condition for a restoration project. As this project
progresses we will add pics and info.
Before we started restoration.
You can see all the original upholstery and all the
original interior, even though this will be removed and replaced.
The beginning phase of
the 57 restoration project.
The interior and carpet has been removed,
looking under the dash at wiring and heater components etc. look as new as the
day it came from the factory, a rare find as most of these older cars have been
destroyed through the years.
The floor pan is extremely clean and rust free.
Wow no rust in the doors either. A rare find especially
for a 57.
All the glass and windows have been removed to
start the stripping process of the paint from the body to bring it back to bare
metal.
Left front fender, grille and bumper have been
removed
We found three spots of rust on the car left and right
side of window pillar
Infamous rust under battery tray apart from that the
car is very clean
Both fenders and inner fenders removed
Front clip removed, next week we will continue on the project so stop by and see the progress.
